I love design freebies and I try to keep track of which ones are going on. It’s fun to get free stuff. I’m also keen on the ones that allow you to use them commercially, not just for personal use. So I decided maybe I’d post the current freebies available for designers and creatives.
If you are a designer, here are a few places that I know of that offer freebies when you sign up:
Design Cuts – offers inexpensive bundles and a bunch of freebies when you sign up.
Pixelo – Offers graphic and font bundles.
Creative Market – Offers weekly freebies.
Here are few deals that are going on this week.
Design Freebies from Creative Market:
These are for personal use only. You’ll have to get an extended license to use commercially. I love downloading these freebies to use for my own freebies on this site and for personal use. This week we got a few fonts, handmade doodles, wood textures, and a whale vector pattern.
Creative Market Freebies Download here. You need to sign up to get these! These are only good until Sunday, March 26th because on Monday, they offer new freebies.
Design Cuts Freebies:
When you sign up to Design Cuts, they offer a starter pack. The starter pack comes with a bunch of design freebies and comes with a file organization system for your graphic files that you can use in the future. They also have deals they run weekly where they bundle a ton of stuff and sell it for around $30. It’s a sweet deal if you really love creating things but don’t have the time to create a bunch of illustrations or you want a deal on fonts. Be sure to sign up for these and get weekly emails to find out the deals.
This week, DC is offering a freebie for a textures and background pack.
The freebie pack includes a ton of colourful, pastel textures, patterns and brushes from Bulbfish Design, Elan Blog Studio, Greta Ivy, Kim Klassen, Misprinted Type and The Paper Town.
The DC license allows you to use the items in a greater work and then sell them. So as long as you aren’t selling the items as is, you can use these commercially. Check out their license agreement first though as things on the internet can often change.
Free Design Resources:
I sometimes get emails from Free Design Resource (FDR) with free stuff. This week, they are offering a free font for personal & commercial uses:
Even if you aren’t a designer, who doesn’t like a free font? They usually work in other programs besides the Adobe ones. You simply double click on the OTF or TTF file and click install. Close the window and your set!
They also are offering a free brochure mockup. Mockups are great when you aren’t a photographer but want to appear like you are. I use mockups in my shop for my prints. They save me time and I don’t have to buy a bunch of frames!
Another freebie is the paper flowers that you can use to create backgrounds, frames, or other graphic designs. These are for personal use only.
This pack contains 5 JPG files of seamless patterns and frames. All in huge size, with dimensions of 6000×4000 px. These are going to be useful as backgrounds for your printable projects, such as invitation and greeting cards.
Speaking of freebies, you can check mine out too! I keep my freebies page updated so you can go directly there to access anything I create and download it. It’s free for personal use!
That’s this week’s roundup of free stuff. I’ll do another one next week!
